LOVE
I absolutely loved Vampire Academy, so I was really looking forward to Bloodlines. I was glad that Eddie and Adrian were in this spinoff because I really liked their characters. It took me longer to connect with Sydney than it did with Rose, but after reading the book, I’m excited to follow her throughout the series. I appreciated having Rose present in the beginning of the story. It was kind of like her passing down the torch to Sydney. The beginning dragged a bit, but I understand that it had to since it had to introduce the readers to the new storyline. I kept having to remind myself that The Alchemists took centre stage this time and not the vampires. I’m excited to see how the series unfolds and how the characters grow. So far I’m loving the dynamic of the group. Before reading the book, I saw a post of a page in the book where Dimitri enters the story, and since Dimitri is my all time favourite male character, I was anticipating that part. As I got to the end, I didn’t realize how many pages I had left, so when I finally got to that part, the story was over. I cannot explain how shocked/annoyed/devastated I was hahaha I kept flipping the page thinking it was a mistake, and that the next page would magically appear so I could continue reading. Sadly, the story really had ended. Richelle Mead definitely left me wanting more! I’m eagerly awaiting the release of The Golden Lily. So far, VA is still my favourite, but I have high hopes for this series.
